Another fine episode S&S!
As requested I have rattled your donation plate, which now I’ve typed it, sounds like a Driscoll approved pick up line.
Thank you, Mark! Your donation is greatly appreciated!
I’d love to see a video of catcalling douchebags walking down an alley full of bears and leather daddies looking at them like they’re on the menu and complementing their mouths and other orifices.
As for behymen, I asked my most wordly gay friends, and they’d never heard of it. I’m not surprised a straight comedian came up with it, because it’s just not something we gays refer to.
Awesome episode guys, just packed with goodness and I would leave comments on every interesting thing you talked about but that would take up ALL THE SPACE. So I’ll try to dong it out over various platforms.
Firstly though, sad to say that the penis on the expensive car was a hoax. Or maybe hoax is the wrong word because it’s from an internet prank video and then the pic went viral and newspapers reported it because fact checking your reports is a dead artform… http://mashable.com/2014/10/09/penis-bugatti-spray-paint-prank/
My favourite youtube feminist Laci Green did a great vid on how sexism hurts men:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwQBlNVqL-E
It shows how those examples of “female privilege” is really just the same old sexism feminists are already trying to get rid of. Fathers don’t get custody due to the sexist notion that only women are nurturing and able to take care of kids while men are not for instance.
As for women crossing the street, well speaking as a scary looking guy that happens almost never. And when it does happen I don’t curl into the fetal possition going “woe is me, she thinks I’m possibly dangerous and she doesn’t even know me! My life is THE WORST!” No, I think “Good for you lady, trying to stay safe in a dangerous world.” Seriously if a guy is going to be that fragile about assumed insults to his character from a total stranger he sees for 2 seconds and never again then he has bigger problems to deal with!
Even as a devout Christian I was often struck by just how brazenly manipulative Paul could be. He had no problem emotionally blackmailing congregations while donning a fake air of humility. Best example is in 2 Corinthians where he starts in chapter 8 where he’s telling them how he’s in Macedon and these Macedonians have so little but they’ve been SO GENEROUS and then he really brings the hammer down in chapter 9 when he says:
“I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. 3 But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove hollow, but that you may be ready, as I said you would be. 4 For if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to say anything about you—would be ashamed of having been so confident. 5 So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given.”
I remember hearing that in church (typically before the offering) and thinking, “Wait, are we just going to sit here and pretend that is pious and profound scripture and not a guy using sleazy tactics to emotionally distort more money out of people?”
