I thought it had to do with someone fucking up so bad that they blushed bright red. Then ppl say, "Your face is hot enough to fry an egg on it!"
but I don't know if that is where the saying comes from….BAHAHAHHA PRICASSO!
That's such a great theory and also plays in with mine of having a fried egg pasted to one's face.
I know I'm a little late to the party but I just have to share this. If you enjoyed elephant, mouth and prick painting then you are sure to have SO MANY FEELINGS about #5 on this list of The 7 Most Terrifying Rejected TV Ads from Cracked.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say you may just find everything on that list interesting. (And I don't mean the good kind of interesting, I mean the Chinese curse of Interesting Times kind of interesting)

When I hear egg on your face, Budds I don't know if you remember the add for Cadbury creme eggs, it would sing "don't get caught with egg on your face. Don't get caught! Such a devious child!" and there was an annoying kid who was hiding and eating his creme egg in his desk at school. That's what I picture. And Sam sings the add all the time!
Also, I want to say I too hate when people are praying for me or say "god bless" all the time. Mum writes it in every birthday or Xmas card and it really annoys me!

I don't mind a tacked on "god bless" without much thought, but when it's a decided effort to pray for me for something specific, I hate it.
