Everyone is finally seeing what I’ve seen in his output ever since Wonka. It’s like when everyone finally caught up and realised there weren’t any WMDs, only this took way longer.

The Johnny Depp segment in this episode was so funny it made me a little light-headed. I guess I really needed to hear that, because all the ads for this movie have made me want to hide in a cabinet and never come out.

Man that Eric Hovind has all of his dad’s smug douchiness with none of the charm. His dad – Kent Hovind – is the reason I used to be a young earth creationist. He had a lot of influence in churces here and he was also science advisor to Jack Chick whenever he did a tract on evolution. Thing is, the guy was a great salesman, he made his nutty ideas sound like the only option worth choosing. Which is bad because he didn’t just dislike evolution, he was into every conspiracy theory you can imagine, from the Illuminati trying to kill us all with chemtrails to doctors hiding the fact that seeds cure cancer. That all caught up with him when his failure to differenciate fantasy from reality caused him to stop paying taxes because he was a citizen of the Kingdom of God and not the United States. Surprisingly enough that defense didn’t work…
