I can't believe I'm so late on this.
CONGRATULATIONS SIMONE!
I actually stopped working and started texting the Dongline when I heard the news, but I was so excited It was like over 10 texts.
You got a Lil Dong!! Lil Dong!!! Ahhh!

I love the spider-bowl-stick-invention. I have an extremely similar spider story.
I was in the top bunk going to sleep when I saw a fucking huuuuge huntsman spider on my Hanson poster, in between Taylor and Isaac, with one creepy, hairy foot on Taylor's cheek.
I leaped out of bed and ran into the bathroom instead of the lower bunk because I'd rather share a bed with a spider than my older sister. I ended up sleeping in the living room.
(I'm from hawaii and 25, hence the Huntsman and the Hanson)

p.s. is it super weird that I had a fantasy of moving to LA to be the Turkington Nanny?

Congratulations, Simone! (And sorry the De Lorean was a disappointment). I have a Back to The Future pregnancy story that you might find inspiring and/or useful: I was born on August 26th, 1985--exactly two months before Marty McFly traveled to 1955, though the movie had been in theaters for a few moths already. My mom loved (loves) the Back to the Future trilogy and saw the original several times while she was pregnant with me. I've loved the movie for as long as I can remember, and I imagine it has something to do with my mom being really happy while she watched it and thus, producing a lot of oxytocin or something which crossed the placenta and predestined me to a life of enthusiastic BTTF watching (I also get really giddy whenever I hear "The Power of Love," and have noticed my mom always turns the radio way up when it plays, which I'm sure she did in August of '85 as it was the number one song on the billboard charts)...So, perhaps, if you enjoy many happy Back to the Future related moments while pregnant, your kid will also grow up to be a fan of the trilogy, despite the initial frustrations with the De Lorean.
