Yes! Simone described the emotional experience of hearing The Beatles on Mad Men perfectly! In the first moments it didn't make sense to me why this music I've heard a million times sounded so shocking and out of place, and yeah, I got tingly and wispy eyed pondering the implications of hearing sounds like this for the first time. Ahhh!

Okay, weird 'pick-up' story:

I was 14 and went to a party at a beach park, I met a boy who looked a lot like Sean Astin in The Goonies, so obviously I was interested. Sometime later that night we went up on a hill to 'talk' (makeout!!) So we're up there in the dark making out when he pulls back and asks me "Have you even given a blow-job before?" Of course not!!!! I'm 14! I just wanna pretend you're 'Mikey' and make out!

I stayed calm and didn't let him know how shocked I was. After a little debate he leaned back in frustration, rubbing his Dong through his pants, he turned to me and said "C'mon, you're COOL, right?"

NO. Not that cool.
I got up and left, losing my glasses in the process.

A week later he started dating a girl who was apparently much 'cooler' then me(heh), they've been together for 11 years now. Strange world.

I LOVE Plugged-In Online's movie reviews. All their reviews actually. It was really funny to see the music reviewer try to explain how Lady Gaga is right about accepting yourself the way God made you except when it comes to being gay. My absolute favourites are when the reviewer likes something that he/she clearly shouldn't because it's not "Focus on the Family brand Christian" enough.

Like in the first Iron Man the reviewer tries to make Tony Stark a parallel to St Paul - he was a bad person but then he has a conversion experience and gets a shiny new heart and puts on armour (just like in Ephesians!) and becomes a better man. So even though it has violence, promiscuity and drinking as well as so much other "negative content" it's technically Christian so it's OK to watch!

Best one ever was when they actually liked Evan Almighty and gave it a good review and they had to publish it with a disclaimer by James Dobson himself ranting about how this is a perversion of the Bible and how this is not the God he learned about on his mother's knee! It was awesome!

Not "weird." Sounds like you enjoy when people are happy and are using music as a means to evoke happiness. That's sweet. Kinda like making a great desert for someone you love.

Aww. I love my summer jam. Whatever you guys pick I will like even if I wouldn't like it on its own. I have this thing, it's probably kinda weird, where anything that someone I like likes, I automatically like in the way that when I hear it I think of it making them happy and then I'm happy all the way through the song. I even put songs they like that I wouldn't have liked on playlists because I love thinking about that song making my friend happy. I don't know if this makes sense. But I even liked Aaron and Ben's summer jams this year and those are dubstep. I mean, what the hell. I never used to like that on its own but them saying they love those songs makes me automatically like the songs for that reason when I wouldn't have before. Does this make sense? Sorry I'm so weird. I want the listener to share their summer jams so I can make a giant playlist. My commute is really long, y'all.

Paul, I did give it a chance! I thought it had promise with some of the sample Stephy mentioned, but no dice. Why would I want to hear someone shitting on songs I like?

Still need to figure out my summer jam. Hmmmmm.
